Ron Weitzman, a Morris County resident since 1960, urged the Morris County Board of County Commissioners to support improved mobility access for residents with disabilities at New Jersey Transit rail stations in the county.

Weitzman told commissioners he is researching accessibility improvements and seeking stakeholder leadership to address what he described as 88 "challenged" rail stations in Morris County. He asked the board to consider commenting to New Jersey Transit, the New Jersey Transit Police Authority and legislative offices on disability as appropriate.

"I ask for your support in commenting to NJT the current situation of 88 challenged rail stations in Morris County," Weitzman said. He said he will continue to compile observations and contact relevant agencies and would follow up to the board in writing.

The board opened the meeting for public comment and accepted Weitzman's statement under the usual three-minute limit; no other speakers commented on transit accessibility during the public-comment period recorded in the transcript.
