The Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners on Aug. 5 approved the appointment of Alan Hunt as director of the county’s Planning and Land Use Department.
The resolution appointing Hunt passed by roll call. Commissioners said Hunt was selected following an extensive search; statements in the meeting described his background as including service in federal government roles, prior executive leadership at the Musconetcon Watershed Authority, grant management experience and a doctorate in planning. The board also noted Hunt’s local ties as a Hunterdon County farmer.
The appointment was presented as a replacement for the current department leader, Frank Bell, who is expected to retire in the near future. Commissioners said they expect Hunt to assume department leadership and to oversee ongoing planning, permitting and grant administration activities.
No salary or employment contract details were discussed in public at the meeting.
