Arlington ISD held its required public hearing Aug. 21 on the district's federal grant allotments for the 2025'26 school year and heard from district staff about planned allocations for Title programs, special-education consolidation funds and Perkins V career and technical education funds.
Doctor Wirtz led the presentation, explaining the district operates under three major federal grant streams. "As you know, we have three overarching federal grants that we operate under," he said, and described Every Student Succeeds Act (Title) funds, special-education consolidated funds (IDEA-B), and Perkins V funding for career and technical education. He said Title II Part A funding would be used primarily for professional learning and coaching (about $2,100,000), Title III for immigrant and emergent-bilingual supports, Title IV for supplemental enrichment and school-safety supports such as PBIS and restorative practices, IDEA-B funds for special-education staffing and resources, and Perkins V (about $641,000) for career-technical equipment, student experiences and salaries.
The hearing was opened at 7:31 p.m.; no members of the public registered to speak on the federal allotments and the hearing closed at 7:32 p.m. Trustee Fowler asked whether the district had received Notices of Grant Award; Doctor Wirtz answered that the district had already received the NOGA and that recent holds of funds had been released.
The presentation documented the district's obligation under Board Policy CB(Local) to hold and publish the hearing and indicated the district will post federal-application and allotment information on its website.
