Aldine ISD board approves consent items, rescinds teacher termination and ratifies easement for Hill Nimitz school

The Aldine Independent School District Board of Trustees on Aug. 19 approved multiple consent‑agenda items, rescinded a previously proposed termination, ratified an easement for a school fire lane and nominated a trustee to the Harris County Appraisal District board.

The board voted unanimously to approve consent items listed on the agenda after a motion by Trustee Randy Bates and a second from Trustee Steve Mead. Trustees present — Dr. Kimberly Booker, Steve Mead, Rose Avalos, Randy Bates and Dr. Viola Garcia — recorded yes votes; two members, Paul Shanklin and Connie Esparza, were excused.

On a separate motion the board rescinded the recommendation for proposed termination of Annette Jones, a teacher at Anderson Elementary School.
