Tyler Schneider, speaking for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office Sergeants Association, presented the association's initial collective bargaining proposal to the Board during public comment on Aug. 27 and offered both hard copy and a digital version for staff review.
Schneider said he would email the digital copy to staff if preferred and that association members expect the proposal to be placed on an upcoming agenda for formal receipt. County staff replied that the county would prefer both a hard copy and a digital copy and that the auditor’s office (Lindsay) would get the proposal on an upcoming agenda for formal receipt.
Why it matters: the submission begins a formal collective bargaining process between the county and the Sergeants Association and puts the proposal into the county’s agenda/record for staff and legal review.
What’s next: staff will accept the proposal and schedule it for formal receipt on a future agenda.
