Central Consolidated Schools presented a request for board approval to renew its part‑time resolution with the New Mexico Public School Insurance Authority so employees who work 15 to 20 hours per week can continue to participate in the district's benefit plans for the 2025–26 school year.
Marlena Harvey, HR benefits supervisor, told the board the resolution would allow eligible part‑time staff to retain medical, dental, long‑term disability and additional life insurance through the authority for at least a 13th consecutive year if renewed. "This will be the thirteenth consecutive year that CCSD has continued this important part time resolution for our staff," Harvey said. She said at present 39 district employees participate under the resolution, primarily bus drivers, bus aides and some cooks.
Harvey provided a breakdown of current participation: of the 39 employees, 23 have dental coverage, 24 vision coverage, three medical, three long‑term disability and two additional life policies; 14 of the 39 do not participate in any offered plan. She said the deadline to submit the signed district resolution to the Public School Insurance Authority is April 11.
Board members asked no substantive questions. Board President Hasky and Vice President Wells both said they had no questions and described the request as straightforward.
Harvey closed by asking that the board members sign the resolution if they approved it so benefits staff could submit it to the authority for processing.
