The O'Fallon Township High School District 203 Board of Education voted unanimously June 19 to appoint Blake Corners to an open seat on the board.
The board moved and seconded the appointment during the meeting; the roll-call vote recorded ayes from board members in attendance and the motion carried. After the vote, Dr. Shackerford administered the board member oath of office to Corners. Corners responded “I do” to each pledge, including duties to uphold the U.S. and Illinois constitutions, respect taxpayer interests, and abide by majority decisions of the board.
The oath also included commitments to foster community participation, promote student achievement and continuous assessment in compliance with state law, and to work with district leadership to advance the district’s vision. The board welcomed Corners following the oath and noted his immediate participation in board work.
The appointment was taken as a formal board action; no additional conditions or contingencies were recorded in the minutes.
