At John C. Daniels staff said the district will repair fencing, close gates where appropriate, post signage that the property belongs to the school, and continue partner sweeps for hazardous materials such as needles to make play areas safe. Staff emphasized that some sections of fields and structures are owned by the parks department while field surfaces may be under city care, requiring interagency coordination.
The committee requested a November update on the landscaping evaluation spreadsheet and suggested monthly progress checks through the winter so the district can document vendor performance and remediation work.
