The White Oak Borough Council on Aug. 18 approved financial items including the July check register, interfund transfers and a winter rock‑salt procurement. The borough reported an unrestricted account balance of $2,891,058.03 and a restricted account balance of $3,786,519.26 for a combined total the presenter gave as $6,677,577.29. The council approved the check register, which the presenter said totaled $525,391.36. The council also authorized interfund transfers for July including $31,522.73 from Liquid Fuels to the general fund, $72,095.60 from Solid Waste to the general fund, and other transfers totaling $107,564.04. Public Works recommended accepting a Compass Minerals America Inc. bid for rock salt for the 2025–26 winter season; the presenter said the bid was “$20.25” with a base amount of $88.32. Council members approved the procurement and authorized the borough president and manager to execute contracts for the season. Why it matters: The approvals allow timely vendor contracting for winter supplies and move accounting transfers that support operating funds. The presenter said the borough also collected $74,000 in delinquent rubbish fees since May. All motions were approved by voice vote; no dissent was recorded in the meeting minutes.
