Kosciusko County commissioners authorized execution of a Local Public Agency (LPA) consultant contract with USI for right-of-way services on Bridge 139, a large county bridge crossing the Yule River on 700 East.
Staff member Steve Mori presented the request, describing the contract as a consultant agreement between USI and the county to perform right-of-way services for Bridge 139. When a commissioner asked for the bridge location, Mori said it was over the "Yule River" on 700 East and that it is one of the county's largest bridges. "This is 1 of our largest bridges in the county," Mori said.
A commissioner moved to accept the request and another seconded; the board approved the contract authorization by voice vote. The county attorney (Ed) reviewed the item prior to the motion, according to Mori.
The meeting record does not include contract dollar amounts, specific schedule or a copy of the agreement; commissioners approved only the execution of the LPA consultant contract as presented.
