Council authorizes purchase of generator for Lindquist Road lift station

The Hibbing City Council voted May 7 to authorize the purchase of a generator for the Lindquist Road lift station to provide continuous power during outages.
City Engineer Jesse Storey presented the item and said the generator price from HN Craig is $26,804.90 and the city has $32,000 budgeted for the purchase this year. “We do have 32,000 budgeted for that purchase for this year. So I'm asking counsel to approve this purchase,” Storey said. The council approved the purchase by voice vote.
The generator purchase follows last year’s lift‑station upgrades and is intended to ensure continuous power to the station in case of outages; staff did not record further contract terms or installation schedule during the council discussion.
