The Ashwaubenon Site Plan Review Committee on March 18 approved a site plan change for Metro Sales Incorporated at 1245 West Main Avenue that relocates a refuse enclosure outside a FEMA-designated floodplain and places a compactor in the enclosure’s former location.
Applicant Bayland Buildings requested the change. Village staff member Aaron presented a revised site plan showing the refuse enclosure moved to the southeast corner of the parking lot, outside the designated flood-plain area, and the compactor sited where the enclosure had been. Staff said the applicant revised the original plan after it showed the relocated enclosure inside the flood plain.
Committee members discussed screening and noise. Aaron told the committee there would not be noise issues with the compactor. Staff’s recommended conditions, which the committee included in its approval, require that the compactor screening be at least as tall as the compactor and that the relocated refuse enclosure remain outside the FEMA-designated floodway. The screening will use a sliding chain-link gate to secure and screen the compactor area and must meet all other Ashwaubenon site plan and village ordinance requirements.
David O'Brien attended on behalf of the applicant during the presentation. Committee members moved and seconded a motion to approve the relocation and compactor installation with staff conditions; the motion passed unanimously.
