Summary
The Site Plan Review Committee approved an exception to the village sign code allowing three sequential temporary banners at the former Bed Bath & Beyond location at 825 Pilgrim Way, with specific display dates and locations on the building.
The Ashwaubenon Site Plan Review Committee on March 18 approved an exception to the village sign code to allow extended temporary signage for a Ross Dress for Less store planned at 825 Pilgrim Way.
The committee voted to permit three sequential banners on the former Bed Bath & Beyond building: an "opening soon" banner from April 17, 2025, through July 17, 2025; a "now hiring" banner from May 23, 2025, through July 17, 2025; and a "now open" banner from July 17, 2025, through August 15, 2025. The applicant and property owner listed at the meeting were Creative Sign Company and Maverick Investors LLC, respectively.
The village sign code normally limits the duration a temporary sign may be displayed. Will (village staff) told the committee that the code’s time limit can be waived with Site Plan Review Committee approval, which is why the request was before the committee. Kelsey, a representative from Creative Sign Company, was present online and the applicant confirmed the banners would be placed in the same building locations as the existing banner display.
Committee members moved and seconded the request and voted to approve the temporary signage as presented. No conditions or limitations beyond the dates and locations shown were added during the discussion.
The approval clears the way for the retailer to use the three temporary banners on the Pilgrim Way façade according to the dates the committee recorded. The store opening was described in the presentation as planned for July 2025.
