The Village of Ashwaubenon Site Plan Review Committee on May 6 approved a request from Nativity of Our Lord Parish to display temporary signage for its annual car raffle at 2270 S. Oneida St., a package that exceeds the staff-authorized four-week limit.
The action covers a 96-inch-by-46-inch rolling message-board sign and a 10-foot inflatable “tube man,” both of which the applicant said will be taken down at the end of each day during the raffle period, roughly May 12 to June 22. Planning staff told the committee the extra review was required only because the display would be up for about six weeks.
Committee members were told the signs have been used year after year without reported public-safety incidents. Planning staff said there was no objection from public-safety reviewers. “It hasn’t been an issue the past three years,” a public-safety representative told the committee.
After brief discussion the committee moved and seconded approval of the temporary signage; the motion carried on a voice vote.
The approval is limited to the sign package and time window presented to the committee. Village staff said the signs will be removed each day and that future or different signage would require separate review.
