Site plan approved for 174-square-foot stage at Backyard Brew; conditions require building permits

The Village of Ashwaubenon Site Plan Review Committee on May 20 approved a site plan for a small outdoor stage at Backyard Brew LLC on Sand Acres Drive.
Aaron, a Village staff member, told the committee the proposed stage would sit west of the existing clubhouse, about 174 square feet in area, set 2 feet off the ground on concrete posts, and have three walls plus a fabric retractable roof. "The stage will be built... to the west of the current building," Aaron said. He added the location places the stage outside environmental constraints such as ESAs, floodways and flood zones.
Aaron said the applicant plans lattice fencing around the underside of the stage to keep animals and other debris from collecting underneath, and that the stage would have no electricity. "No noise will be coming from the stage after 10PM per Village Code," Aaron said, and staff listed obtaining required building permits as a condition of approval.
Committee members asked about sightlines and proximity to the retention pond; staff showed an aerial photo indicating the stage location between the clubhouse and an existing retention pond. The applicant, identified in the staff presentation as Brida(l) Hinkle, owner of Backyard Brew LLC, was in the audience.
A motion to approve the stage with staff conditions carried on a voice vote. No neighbor objections were noted in staff materials.
The approved plan allows the business to proceed with permit applications; staff will verify required building permits before construction begins.
