The Westminster Public Schools Board of Education voted Aug. 26 to approve an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Adams County to conduct a coordinated mail-ballot election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, the district told the board.
Veronica Gleit, representing district elections coordination, told the board the IGA is required "as part of the election process and pursuant to state statute 1 7 1 1 6 subsection 2 as well as for policy BBA" to partner with Adams County for a coordinated mail-ballot election. The district plans to place one question on the mail ballot this fall.
A board member moved to approve the IGA and another seconded the motion. During discussion one board member commented that "mail in ballots are very official, they work, there is no fraud in mail in ballots." The motion passed by unanimous roll call: Mr. Martin, Ms. Martinez, Ms. Murphy, Mr. Arecchio and Ms. Yanos voted aye.
The board did not attach additional conditions to the IGA during the meeting. The IGA will allow the district and county to coordinate ballot distribution and related election administration for the November coordinated election.
