Delafield board grants phone testimony for one resident, denies others and schedules May 29 hearings

The City of Delafield Board of Review on May 12 approved one request to testify by telephone and denied other telephonic testimony requests while scheduling additional hearing dates for unresolved objections.

The board voted to allow Cindy Lyden (listed in the packet) to testify by phone regarding 1614 West Shore Drive (tax key DELC0786007) because she is out of state and reported health issues that would make in-person attendance difficult. A board member moved to permit phone testimony and the motion passed by voice vote; no roll call was required.

The board considered multiple requests from representatives of JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A. (for several tax keys associated with 524 North Genesee Street and for 3201 Village Square Drive). Board members said those cases involved complex, high-dollar materials and out-of-state expert witnesses and, by majority vote, denied the requests for phone testimony; the objectors will need to appear in person or have local representatives present at a later scheduled hearing.

The board set a follow-up Board of Review date for May 29, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers, 500 Genesee Street, to hear cases that were postponed or required in-person testimony. Items scheduled for that date include the JPMorgan Chase matters (tax keys for 524 North Genesee Street and 3201 Village Square Drive), the objection for 20 Crossroads Court (DELC0803006), and the matter involving 1614 West Shore Drive (the phone testimony request was approved but the board noted scheduling needs).

The clerk will notify objectors of their scheduled hearing dates and any technical arrangements for phone testimony where approved.
