A staff member told the committee that Richland Center High School staff visited the Science Building twice and left with full vehicles of instruments and supplies; Jeff Barrons of Richland Center High School compiled a listing of the instruments and communicated continued interest in certain items. The committee said it intends to give school districts located within the county first opportunity to claim items, then open the remaining materials to nearby districts.
The staff member noted many of the musical instruments need maintenance — "they all need work, but they're usable" — and that local districts might need to tune and lubricate some items before student use. Library staff obtained the materials they wanted from the library building and expressed interest in some landscape rock stored near a garage; county staff said the rock is available for the library to pick up for their summer landscaping projects.
Committee members also reported ongoing communication with Greg Zimmerman from the foundation about a plotting machine that the school district has indicated it wants; final details remain under discussion. No formal action was taken; the reports were informational and staff will continue coordinating transfers with interested districts and the library.
