Richland County HHS reports staff vacancies, reorganizes some roles

The Richland County Health and Human Services director told the committee that the department’s organizational chart includes several active vacancies and a few recent changes in unit responsibilities.
The director said they are now the HHS director and reviewed unit updates: the business/financial services manager position is vacant; the HHS financial manager position also remains vacant; the behavioral health unit is recruiting a mental health therapist and has had a recent utility vacancy in behavioral health compliance; and the child and youth services unit now lists Britney Wirtz as child and youth services manager. The department added Jay Batten as a temporary casual nutrition driver.
Staff noted the mental health therapist position has been vacant for about a month and that the department has secured an extension on the recruitment timeline from the granting or oversight body through October (extension language in the meeting was "till 8, October"). The director also said the department continues to recruit for the HHS financial manager role and had received one application so far.
No formal personnel actions were taken at the meeting; the committee accepted the organizational chart review and staff updates for committee information.
