The Delafield Common Council approved a resolution Aug. 18 to amend the 2025 capital budget and accelerate purchase of a public works plow truck. Council members said manufacturer delays and requirements for down payments and storage fees made it prudent to move money from next year’s capital plan into the current year so the city can secure the vehicle.
Council discussion noted that advancing the purchase could increase the trade‑in value of the city’s existing plow truck. The council approved the amendment by roll call vote after a motion and second; alderpersons voted unanimously in favor. The mayor called for the roll; alderpersons Henry, Schaffer, Veil, Wilkin, Price and Laughlin voted aye and the motion carried.
City staff said the funds are available and the purchase does not require new funds beyond the capital plan reallocation. The council did not modify the purchase terms at the meeting beyond approving the budget amendment.
