Vane said the Gates Mills Park and Trail dedication drew regional partners including representatives from the regional sewer district and county planning and that Councilwoman Meredith Turner secured a $250,000 ARPA grant the city used for gateway and trail-area improvements. “It was very well attended,” the mayor said of the dedication, which coincided with the summer solstice and was briefly interrupted by rain.
Vane praised city staff and volunteers — specifically calling out the service department and Rachel Garrett for her role in organizing Taste of Pepper Pike and the department’s work setting up and breaking down the event. He said videos of both events have been posted to the city’s website and Facebook page for residents unable to attend.
The mayor said the city will continue to schedule summer movies and concerts and encouraged residents to attend forthcoming events.
