Stonecrest names Lance Randall as economic development director and SDA executive director

Mayor Cobble introduced Lance Randall as the City of Stonecrest's new economic development director and the executive director for the Stonecrest Development Authority during the authority's Aug. 27, 2025 meeting. The appointment was announced publicly before the body entered executive session.
The introduction came as the authority reviewed meeting minutes and prepared to discuss real estate matters in executive session. Mayor Cobble said the city conducted multiple interview rounds before selecting Randall and thanked Treasurer Joyce for flagging Randall's application. "We did not take that search lightly," Mayor Cobble said.
Lance Randall told the authority he is "very happy to be here to serve the city of Stonecrest" and that he has prior ties to the area going back to his college years. He said he moved to the area and looks forward to working with city leadership and the community on projects already on the table. "There's a lot of assets. There's a lot of upside for the city of Stonecrest, and I'm just looking forward to doing my part to help fulfill the vision that the leadership and the community have agreed upon," Randall said.
City Manager Scruggs was thanked by Randall for support in getting acclimated to the city. Mayor Cobble said the authority will schedule an additional meeting to introduce Randall to the authority's attorney and financial adviser and to brief him on details discussed in executive session.
The meeting record shows the authority approved the meeting agenda and June 25 meeting minutes before the introduction; no public comments were received by the 2 p.m. deadline the chair referenced for virtual public comment submission via cityclerk@stonecrestga.gov.
Officials described the introduction as part of a formal onboarding process: Mayor Cobble said Randall had several conversations with the selection team before the offer, and the authority plans follow-up meetings to bring him up to speed on legal and financial matters related to development projects.
