Commission approves additional FF&E charges for the Forge to cover security badge access wiring

On July 21 the Redevelopment Commission approved Resolution 25-92 to authorize two additional invoices from TEC Electronics and to increase the Forge FF&E budget by $3,243.81. The work covers badge-access wiring and security system items that exceed the original scope included in the Building Associates contract.
Staff explained that an initial TEC Electronics invoice for $15,687 was previously approved and paid within the original scope; two subsequent invoices exceeded that original scope because they relate to access control and badge wiring necessary for the building to operate with multiple tenants and secure access. Staff said the overall building project remains under its total committed budget even with this FF&E budget increase.
Commissioners and staff discussed the original design assumptions, noting some wiring and access-control items were intentionally left out of the scope until tenant counts and final configuration were certain. The commission approved the additional charges unanimously.
Staff said they will continue to track FF&E spending against the overall project budget and return with any further scope or change-order requests.
