The City of Bloomington Redevelopment Commission on July 21 unanimously approved Resolution 25-88, granting a permanent blanket stormwater easement across Trades District Lot 2A, known as the Forge property. The easement covers the entire lot to accommodate a green-roof structure and insure access through the building for maintenance.
The easement affects the Forge property in the Trades District and was presented with a map showing Lot 2A. Commission staff said the blanket easement covers the whole parcel because the green roof and associated infrastructure would be difficult to exclude in separate parcels and require access through the building.
Commissioners had no substantive objections on the record. No public commenters spoke on the item. The resolution passed unanimously.
The easement is recorded as a permanent instrument and the commission asked staff to include the map in the project file for clarity going forward.
