The City of Bloomington Redevelopment Commission unanimously approved an amended secondary plat for the Hopewell West subdivision on Aug. 18 to add omitted meets-and-bounds text and correct two dimensions on the recorded plat.
Kendall Kenoki, City of Bloomington engineering department, told the commission that the RDC had already approved the legal secondary plat establishing lots but that a subsequent surveyor found critical missing information needed to locate lots in the field. "All the meets and bounds have been added to all the lot lines," Kenoki said, and the changes are limited to adding that information and two updated dimensions. He told commissioners there is no cost to the city for the amendment and that another property owner in the subdivision, BHA, had already signed the revised plat.
Commissioners discussed how the amended plat will aid other work on Second Street and Rogers Street and will not negatively affect the city's current INDOT-managed Second Street project because the work is within existing right of way. Commissioners and staff noted that the three lots at the northwest corner of Second and Rogers tied to the environmental remediation (Resolution 25-102) will remain restricted until contamination issues are resolved.
There was no public comment. The commission approved Resolution 25-103 by unanimous roll-call vote. Staff said once the RDC signs the amended plat it will be recorded and will facilitate future development activity and surveying in the subdivision.
The commission also noted a typographical correction to the word "metes" on the plat record prior to finalizing signatures.
