The Ysleta Independent School District approved several contract and interlocal items during its Aug. 27 meeting, including workers' compensation third‑party administration, participation in a benefits cooperative, dual‑credit arrangements and a juvenile education interlocal.
Trustees voted to award the workers' compensation third‑party administrator (RFP 225017) to CAS Claims Administrative Services Inc. for a not‑to‑exceed annual amount of $210,000 for the period Sept. 1, 2025, through Aug. 30, 2026, with the possibility of three one‑year extensions contingent on final negotiations and in‑house counsel review.
The board approved entering an interlocal participation agreement (contract 20260020) with First Public LLC, a TASB subsidiary, to participate in the TASB benefits cooperative, contingent on final negotiations and counsel review. Trustees also ratified contract 20250222 with the University of Texas at Austin to continue the OnRamps dual‑enrollment program and approved contract 20260002, an interlocal agreement with the El Paso County Juvenile Board to continue operating the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP) at Cesar Chavez Academy.
All contract items carried by recorded votes with no recorded opposition. Several motions were contingent on final negotiations, in‑house counsel review and required certificate filings before execution.
