Americans for Prosperity representative urges members to use personal stories, promotes Patriot Academy and precinct training

A representative from Americans for Prosperity told the Washington County Republican Women''s Club that grassroots organizers should focus on personal stories when lobbying legislators and highlighted local training opportunities ahead of the election cycle.

The representative said the group will host Patriot Academy training with state Rep. Ken Ivory and that the six-week course will be available in person at an office in Lehi and by Zoom. "The most powerful way that we can communicate as humans is with our story," the representative said, advising members to bring constituent stories to legislators rather than only policy points.

The speaker encouraged members to take and distribute flyers explaining what the speaker called the benefits of the federal "one big beautiful bill" for small businesses and to attend precinct training being held the following day. She also invited attendees to a breakfast at Black Bear Diner for hands-on help with testimony and registering to speak to committees.

The presentation was promotional and informational; no formal club action was taken. Attendees were urged to RSVP for Patriot Academy sessions and to use an on-table note card system for questions to be raised later in the program.
