The Park City School District Board of Education approved updated logos for its schools at a Aug. 8 meeting, clearing graphics for back-to-school communications and apparel, board members said. The approval was taken by voice vote during a brief meeting convened online.

District staff told the board the action was meant to provide clear, current branding guidance. "Our policy is very gray. It's specific to mascot and colors. So in an effort to be transparent and go through the process, we are putting forth these to the board," an unnamed staff member said. Staff said Ecker Hill Middle School will continue to use the Miners identity and that the new materials incorporate earlier Timber Wolf design elements. Elementary schools received visual refreshes but no mascot changes.

According to the presentation, Jeremy Ranch remains the Hawks; Parley's Park remains the Falcons; McPolin remains the Moose; and Trailside remains the Trailblazers. Staff also noted that the preschool did not previously have a formal logo; Missy and Chris Baer were asked to prepare a mark so the preschool would have a recognized brand for community communications and apparel orders.

Board members said the timing was intended to let schools use the new designs for ordering and communications ahead of the school year.
