San Marino Unified School District announced Sept. 9 that Rochelle Lebreque will join the district as its Public Information Officer on Sept. 22.
Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Dr. Rose introduced Lebreque, saying she is a Pasadena resident and currently serves as a senior communications specialist at the University of Southern California, where she supported faculty and staff communications and coordinated creative teams. Staff also noted Lebreque’s prior K‑12 experience: she worked as communications editor and media specialist for Harlandale Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas, overseeing communications for more than 20 campuses, and served as communications coordinator for Oak Park Elementary School District and as multimedia specialist and interim director of communications for Community High School District.
The board welcomed Lebreque; staff said she brings experience in communications strategy, community engagement and crisis communications and will begin work Sept. 22.
Why it matters: The new PIO will lead district communications and is expected to support school and district outreach during Measure M design, accreditation cycles and other district initiatives.
