The Fremont City Schools board approved personnel items including resignations, appointments, substitute lists, supplemental contracts and athletic event worker payments under items 2 through 10 on the agenda.
Superintendent Denise Hirt said two bus drivers will step away from full‑time roles but asked to remain as substitutes. She announced that Ellen Joseph has notified the district of her retirement effective Nov. 1; the treasurer later said Joseph began working for the district in 1996 and currently serves in the middle school finance office.
The superintendent also acknowledged that custodial staff member Adelaide Stover resigned to continue her education and pursue a teaching career; the superintendent said Stover intends to appear on the certified substitute list in future agendas.
The board discussed substitutes and supplemental positions, observing that some event workers are community volunteers who help run athletic events. Board member Mister Nally asked about the middle school "faculty manager" position; the superintendent explained that the staffer, listed as Thomas Buckley on the agenda, oversees middle school athletics scheduling, equipment and uniform distribution and serves in lieu of a middle‑school athletic director.
The motion to approve items 2 through 10 was made by Mister Nally and seconded by Missus Bloom; roll call was unanimous.
Several new hires — Megan Bibler and Amy Perny — had paperwork completed and were moved to full status with salary step adjustments noted on the agenda. The board did not discuss individual salary numbers on the public record beyond agenda notations.
