The district treasurer told the board that an audit finding required detailed work to confirm payroll and rate calculations after staffing changes at both the vendor and the district. The treasurer said staff reviewed past rates and made internal changes to reduce future errors.
"This is our final thing, and then we should be able to wrap up our audit," the treasurer said, describing the insurance‑rate reconciliation as the last audit item. She said staff member Marina reviewed everyone's rates from the past 18 months and that changes have been made in the finance department.
When item 12 (insurance rates) came to a vote, the motion was made by Mister Nally, seconded by Missus Bloom, and carried on a unanimous roll call. The motion as stated on the agenda authorized acceptance of the insurance‑rate forgiveness and related audit item; no dollar figures were read into the public record during the discussion.
The treasurer also noted that an employee, Ellen Joseph, has announced retirement effective Nov. 1; Joseph has worked in the district since 1996 and currently works in the middle school finance office, the treasurer said.
The board did not discuss changes to insurance vendors or specific dollar adjustments during the public portion of the meeting; the treasurer described internal corrective steps and said the audit should be completed once the board authorized the reconciliation.
