City recommends $382,559 SCADA engineering contract for Davidson Drive wastewater upgrades

The Board was told on Aug. 12 that the city is recommending a contract with Brown Engineering LLC for system-integration and SCADA components at the Davidson Drive wastewater treatment plant, not to exceed $382,559.
Project manager Todd Pillar said Maxfoot Construction is installing blowers, aeration, chemical feed systems, clarifier and UV equipment, plus a new generator, and that integration into the plant’s SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system is necessary so staff can monitor and control the new equipment. Pillar said the work will be funded from the 2025 wastewater bond fund.
Pillar presented the cost estimate and clarified the account noting an earlier misstatement of a 2023 fund reference; he confirmed the cost will be covered by the 2025 bond fund. The board previewed the contract; the recommendation will be brought for formal action at the Aug. 19 meeting.
