City recommends $390,482 contract to Gosley Construction for five stormwater repairs

The City of Hot Springs on Aug. 12 presented a recommended award of $390,482 to Gosley Construction Corporation for the 2025 stormwater drainage repairs and improvements covering five sites: Carson Street in Winona, Darby Alley, Third Street, Virginia Street and Bank Street.
Public Works Director Ron C. Wright said the work addresses failures in the public stormwater system at those locations. Three bids were received; Gosley was the lowest responsible bidder at $390,482, with two other bids: Square 1 Enterprises at $668,350 and Steep Creek at about $639,771.50. Wright told the board the plans are “pretty simple” and said prior work by Gosley for the city gave staff confidence in their estimate.
The board previewed the item; no formal vote was recorded on Aug. 12. Staff recommended the contract for action at the Aug. 19 meeting.
