The New Kent County Board of Supervisors on June 9 authorized the county administrator to execute a four‑year lease with one‑year renewal options for Ace Flight Solutions LLC to use office and maintenance hangar space at the New Kent County Airport.
Dwayne Goss, the county’s airport manager, said Ace Flight Solutions is owned by Andrew Gordon, who has operated in Stafford County for more than six years and recently opened a presence at Louisa County Airport. Goss asked the board to concur with the county administrator endorsing the lease.
Andrew Gordon told the board his company trains technicians in partnership with community colleges and operates flight‑training and maintenance operations. Gordon said the business plans include workforce development and outreach; he described an existing and planned training partnership with the Virginia Community College System.
County counsel reviewed the lease; the terms presented to the board were a four‑year initial term with three one‑year renewal options. The board’s motion authorized the county administrator to sign the agreement.
Supervisor Ms. Maury moved the authorization. The motion passed by voice or roll call: votes recorded as aye by Steers, Stewart, Moyer, Pierson and Evelyn.
Gordon said the business plans include holding an open house once operations are underway and that the company aims to support airport tenants and transient aircraft owners in the region.
