Staff said the existing playground has been in place since the park opened and that the site floods during heavy or even slight rains. Staff said drainage work will be performed after removal of the old equipment, with some drainage work by the playground company and additional stormwater work by county stormwater staff. On schedule, staff said the company will build equipment in a few months and installation was anticipated by early next year; the presenter said, "Beginning of next year, we should have it in. Yep." The stated goal was to have the playground ready for spring.
Board members asked about whether the new installation would expand the footprint; staff said it would use the same footprint but better utilize space. A motion and second to approve the resolution were recorded and the chair announced the motion carried.
