Panel A convenes, confirms quorum and moves into closed session; public excused

Dr. Viling Tsai, vice chair of Panel A, called the meeting to order Thursday, Aug. 21, and said, "Good morning, everyone," then asked for roll call and noted the time. "Current time is 09:02AM. Can somebody please take roll call?" Dr. Tsai said. A staff member read members' names; attendees answered "Here," and the staff member concluded, "Yeah. We have a quorum." The panel then excused the public audience and recessed into a closed session; organizers said adjournment would follow but "will not be webcast." The open portion of the meeting consisted of the call to order, roll call and the announcement that the session would be closed to the public. No motions or votes in open session were recorded in the transcript.
