The Cresthill City Council on Sept. 2 approved a resolution to engage LocalGov Staffing Solutions to conduct the recruitment for a director of public works.
City Attorney Mike Steph presented the resolution and confirmed the packet included an initial proposal (exhibit A) and a services agreement (exhibit B), both reviewed by the city attorney’s office. After a motion by Alderman Dyke and a second by Alderman Scott Dyke (as recorded), the council approved the resolution by roll call (resolution 1342).
Lori Peterson, representing LocalGov Staffing Solutions, addressed the council at the podium and said she and city staff had scheduled a kickoff meeting the day after the council meeting to begin outreach and that the recruitment timeline will be adjusted based on the candidate pool. Peterson said the process is “flexible” and that the firm will adjust advertising and screening as resumes come in; she offered to answer questions and thanked the council for the opportunity.
City Attorney Steph noted a typographical error in a staff memo about dates and confirmed the memo would be corrected in the record before the vote. The council passed the resolution directing the city to execute the services agreement and to proceed with the recruitment process.
Action: Resolution approving agreement with LocalGov Staffing Solutions for recruitment services for the director of public works; vote passed by roll call. Staff will coordinate kickoff and candidate outreach with the consultant and return as required.
