County Attorney Grady asked the Craven County Board of Commissioners to authorize the upset-bid process for a county-owned surplus parcel acquired through tax foreclosure.

Grady said the parcel (parcel ID 3021022) is wholly county owned, located off Biddle Road, and that the initial offer received was $3,200. He said the original past-due taxes and foreclosure costs totaled $3,161.88 and that the tax value of the property is $10,800. Grady recommended that the board authorize the upset-bid process so notice can be published and the sale process finalized.

Commissioners moved and seconded a motion to proceed with the upset-bid process; the board approved the action on a roll-call vote with all members voting in favor.
