At its Aug. 20 meeting the Morgan County Commission approved multiple personnel actions: the hire of Stephanie Mundy as deputy clerk for the circuit clerk’s office, two hires for Morgan County Emergency Telecommunications, and a retroactive authorization for a part‑time hire at the wellness center.
Commissioners voted to hire Stephanie Mundy as the open deputy clerk (circuit clerk’s office) at a starting salary of $27,000, effective Aug. 18, 2025. Melanie (identified in the packet as associated with the circuit clerk’s office) was referenced during discussion of the deputy clerk hire.
The commission also approved hiring Ashley Jeffreys and Elise Hensley for Morgan County Emergency Telecommunications; the discussion referenced a $16‑per‑hour wage for those positions and that one hire fills a training slot. The motion carried on a voice vote.
Separately, commissioners retroactively authorized the hire of Keith Kavanaugh at the wellness center at a rate of $14 per hour for no more than 19.5 hours per week; the commission approved that retroactive hire as presented.
All hires were approved by voice vote and the commission directed staff to complete the normal onboarding steps for each hire.
