Following a closed-session personnel deliberation, the Belton ISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 18 approved termination of term contract employee Pietro Giustino effective immediately.
Board minutes state the termination vote followed required notice: the board proposed termination for good cause on July 21, 2025, and the employee received written notice of the proposed termination on July 23. The minutes record that the employee did not make a timely request for a hearing before an independent hearing examiner within the 15-day window described in the notice.
At the meeting’s open session the board president moved to terminate Mr. Giustino’s employment under his term contract for the 2025–26 school year effective immediately; the motion passed 7–0.
The transcript and minutes show the board followed Texas Government Code procedures for closed-session personnel deliberations and returned to open session to take the recorded action.
