The St. Louis Park City Council on Aug. 18 approved its consent agenda, which included a contract for the city’s lobbying group and an authorization for the mayor to travel to New York City for Climate Week 2025. One council member said the city’s lobbying firm had been “phenomenal in representing us both at the state and the federal” level and expressed support for authorizing the contract. Another council member noted that “item number 5b is approving of the city council travel budget to New York City for Climate Week 2025. The mayor is gonna represent us there,” and described climate and environmental sustainability as a priority. Council members also summarized other consent items for the public: gambling permits for various organizations and parking restrictions near the high school. A councilor asked that future consent agendas be clearer to viewers and people watching on TV so the public can more easily see what is being approved. The consent agenda was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposing votes in the transcript. Council members thanked staff for their work on the contract and for managing travel arrangements.
