Board adopts 2025–26 campus objectives after districtwide planning

Belton ISD trustees on Aug. 18 adopted campus objectives for the 2025–26 school year that administration officials said were developed through comprehensive needs assessments and aligned to district goals and key progress measures.
Mike Morgan, district leadership member overseeing improvement planning, described months of work with campus teams to set measurable objectives. Morgan said one example—Charter Oak’s parent-engagement goal—shows campuses set different targets based on unique needs but aligned to the district priority to “strengthen and support engagement of all stakeholders.”
Morgan told the board the early adoption of district goals in February and key progress measures in May allowed campuses to complete planning and align budgets over the summer, avoiding the more common autumn adoption timeline some districts experience. The board voted 7–0 to adopt the campus objectives as presented.
Trustees and administrators emphasized continuous improvement and said they will begin collecting data early in the year to measure progress. Dr. Golan and other trustees praised principals and staff for the planning work and said the objectives are tools to operationalize district priorities, including Hope Squad implementation and teacher incentive strategies.
The vote was procedural: trustees adopted the written campus objectives provided in the board packet. Administration said campuses will implement the objectives and report progress during the school year.
