The Warren County Board of Supervisors voted Aug. 18, 2025, to release $427,644.77 in American Rescue Plan Act funds for the Carlisle certified site gateway water main project.
The board’s action authorized the ARPA payout for a project that had been discussed and approved in prior meetings. A supervisor said the original project estimate had been higher but costs were scaled down and that the work is now “finally coming to fruition.” The board also noted a recent conversation with Carlisle’s mayor and said the project should open land for development that could benefit Carlisle, the county and the Carlisle School District.
A motion to approve the ARPA payout was made, seconded and approved by roll-call vote. Supervisors did not attach additional conditions in the meeting discussion.
The ARPA appropriation is the latest step toward construction of the water main described in county project materials; county staff and local officials are expected to proceed with project implementation under previously established agreements and contracts.
The board recorded the vote and carried the measure by unanimous vote as reflected in the meeting roll call.
