Craven County renews emergency services consulting contract with Insight Consulting Group

County staff told commissioners on Sept. 15 that Insight Consulting Group has provided debris monitoring, public assistance and resiliency consulting since September 2023 and that renewing the contract is necessary to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and preserve eligibility for public assistance reimbursements following disasters.
The county presentation said the contractor supports solid‑waste and planning department projects including debris monitoring and post‑disaster public assistance documentation; staff asked the board to approve a contract renewal so consulting services can continue into the 2025‑26 budget year.
Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the renewal and authorized the county manager to execute the necessary renewal documents. The board recorded affirmative roll‑call votes during the meeting.
Staff said the renewal will allow the county to continue to track and document eligible disaster work for reimbursement and to support resiliency projects that have previously used the consultant’s services.
