Annapolis, Sept. 2 — The Anne Arundel County Council on Sept. 2 approved an ordinance authorizing a $1.5 million loan to the Epping Forest Special Community Benefits District to fund renovation and replacement of a community marina.
Administration representative Ethan Hunt said the loan carries a 10‑year term amortized over 20 years and that the legislation obligates the county to collect the special tax in the district to repay the loan. Councilmember Radbien said her office and the county attorney reviewed late-submitted documents and found no reason to block moving forward; she indicated she would support the bill. The council adopted the ordinance by roll call vote, 7-0.
Ending Council members noted the public hearing had closed at the July meeting and the vote was deferred; the council moved to approve repayment terms and allow the project to proceed.
