The applicant, Rich Jabrowski, told commissioners the property "has been in my family for over a hundred years" and said he wants the new lots to remain touching for sentimental reasons. Planning staff flagged that a corncrib and a shed on the parcel encroach on the 50‑foot front setback, but the structures are existing. Jabrowski said the corncrib "was built by my grandfather" and that the family does not intend to remove it.
Planning director Emily Malisey and assistant planning director Mike Wozniak reviewed the submission and had no other outstanding technical concerns at the meeting. After brief discussion, a commissioner moved and another seconded the planning commission recommendation to send the subdivision application to council for final action; commissioners voted in favor.
The commission’s recommendation does not itself record a final land‑use approval; Murrysville Borough Council will consider the commission’s recommendation at a future meeting when it takes up the file.
