Quarterly reports show modest case increases; police note LPR activity and new hires

City departments presented quarterly reports of activity for May through July. The judge reported 1,012 cases filed in the quarter and 3,251 year-to-date, with a 4.26% increase in combined cases compared with the prior year. Magistrate duties and collections were summarized, including $168,236 collected by the court.
Building and code enforcement reported 186 code violations over three months (83 for weed control), 507 code inspections and 200 permits issued for May through July, producing $66,275.65 in permit revenue. Short-term rental inspections and residential service inspections were also summarized.
