The board reviewed four crowdfunding requests for school PTAs and a proposed high‑school varsity cheer trip during the Sept. 8 discussion meeting.
Administration recommended approval of crowdfunding requests submitted by Jefferson Elementary (Bingo Bash), Markham Elementary (field trips, PBIS incentives, Helping Hands Fund and other activities), Foster Elementary (library book donations) and Hal (classroom supplies and PTA events). A board member suggested that PTAs consolidate known events for the year so the district can approve a single crowdfunding request rather than multiple separate forms.
High‑school administrators requested permission for the varsity cheerleading squad to travel to Orlando, Florida, for the UCA National Cheerleading Championship from Feb. 5–9, 2026. The administration recommended approval; the presentation noted students will miss three school days and that students are responsible for trip costs.
The board received the items as part of the curriculum and instruction discussion; no formal vote was taken at the Sept. 8 discussion meeting. Administrators recommended placing approvals on the consent agenda at the next regular meeting for formal action.
