Regional team outlines mentorship matches, new resources and pending disaster guidance

Shearer listed resource work by regional staff: a Buy American tracker, a bootcamp manual for in‑service trainings, alternative staffing solutions, an on‑site monitoring checklist tailored to administrative reviews, a wellness policy checklist, and CEP guidance documents to align policies requested during reviews. She said the team is revamping the website to host these materials.
Shearer also said a disaster resource for school nutrition programs is under development and expected within months; it has required extra review because of recent severe weather and input from federal partners. She urged program staff to use the operational calendar for reminders about second monitoring, health inspections, and policy updates going into local board processes.
Regional staff asked SFAs to provide feedback through upcoming surveys so the department can prioritize resource development and training offerings.
