Kathy, a town staff member, told the Town Commission that the Charter Review Committee will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 24, and that the committee’s proposed charter questions will come before the commission by way of an ordinance. "The proposed, charter questions will come before this commission by way of an ordinance with the first and second reading, which will be open for the public to comment," Kathy said.
Kathy said the commission should expect the item in October. She also reminded business owners that town business tax renewals are due by the end of the month and may incur late fees if not paid.
The comment establishes the committee timeline and the procedural route the questions will follow: submission via ordinance and formal first and second readings that will include public comment. No formal vote or ordinance text was presented at the meeting.
